Privacy policy
Debt Freedom Planner is a debt payoff planning application. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and how users can request deletion. We do not connect to bank accounts, and we do not ask for SSNs, card numbers, or online banking credentials.
Data we collect
We collect the account and planning information you enter directly into the app, such as your email address, username, profile settings, debt balances, APRs, minimum payments, saved roadmaps, monthly check-ins, uploaded profile image, subscription status, and related billing identifiers from Stripe.
Google user data we access
If you choose Sign in with Google, the app requests only the Google scopes needed for authentication: email and profile. Based on those scopes, the app may receive your Google account email address, basic profile name, profile photo URL, and the Google account identifier needed to link the sign-in to your Debt Freedom Planner account.
Debt Freedom Planner does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, contacts, or any other Google user data. The app does not store Google OAuth refresh tokens because token storage is disabled in the current implementation.
How we use data
We use your app data to create and maintain your account, calculate debt payoff roadmaps, show your progress, support profile settings, manage subscription access, and provide account-related support. If you use Google sign-in, we use the Google account data only to authenticate you, link the login to your local account, and display your profile identity inside the app.
We do not use Google user data for advertising. We do not sell Google user data. We do not use Google user data to train generalized AI or machine learning models.
How we share data
We do not share Google user data with third parties for advertising or resale. We do not sell personal data.
Data may be processed by service providers that are necessary to operate the app, such as hosting infrastructure and Stripe for subscription billing. Those providers process data only for the purpose of operating the service. We may also disclose data when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the security and integrity of the app.
How we store and protect data
Account records, saved roadmaps, profile settings, and Google-linked profile information are stored on the app's server-side database and file storage. Access is limited to the app operator and authorized administrative processes. The app is served over HTTPS in production, administrative access is restricted, and operational secrets are stored in server-side environment settings.
Google profile information stored by the app is limited to the data needed to support sign-in and profile display, such as the linked Google account record and Google profile photo URL when available.
Data retention and deletion
We retain account and roadmap data while your account remains active so the app can provide saved results, progress tracking, and subscription status. Stripe billing records are retained by Stripe according to Stripe's own legal and operational requirements. Limited operational and security logs may also be retained when necessary for fraud prevention, abuse review, debugging, or legal compliance.
You can request deletion of your Debt Freedom Planner account and associated app data through Account Settings while signed in. If you cannot access your account, you can request deletion by emailing [email protected] from the email address associated with the account.
When a deletion request is processed, we will remove the local app account and associated app data such as your profile, saved roadmaps, uploaded avatar, linked Google sign-in record, and Google profile photo URL stored by the app, subject to any records we must retain for security, fraud prevention, billing reconciliation, or legal compliance.
If your account has an active paid subscription, we may stop or cancel that subscription as part of handling the deletion request. Deleting your Debt Freedom Planner account does not delete Stripe's own billing, payment, tax, fraud-prevention, or compliance records. Those records remain subject to Stripe's privacy practices and legal obligations as a payment processor.
Billing information
Billing for the 30-day Pro trial and any $19.95/month subscription is handled by Stripe. Debt Freedom Planner stores only the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers needed to confirm access and subscription state.
Debt Freedom Planner can control subscription access and cancellation status for the app account, but Stripe remains the system of record for payment transactions and related billing records.
